Lovely views from the pool down the river valley

Relax by our heated 14x6m pool, securely-fenced with a child-proof gate kept locked at night. There are plenty of loungers and parasols around the pool, plus free Internet access.

Wide steps lead into the large, shallow end of the pool of around 1m depth. There is a safety ledge around the 2.5m deep end. Heater maintains water at a comfortable temperature.

The poolside paddling pool and water play table are great favourites with our youngest guests.

On warm evenings, we offer supervised night-time swimming under the lights.

Fishing Lake

RODS, BAIT AND FISHING advice CAN BE PROVIDED.

Our private two-acre fishing lake is a short five-minute walk from the property. Its secluded, peaceful setting is the perfect place to unwind. Left untouched for some 12 years, we are getting the better of the brambles and have happily discovered that the herons have not eaten all the fish. The lake is well stocked with bream, carp, pike, pumpkin seed fish and other native fish species. There are also big carp specimens of 20lb-plus to catch. A great way for kids to learn to fish with a rod or catch crayfish with a net.

Great fun for kids

When not splashing around in our 14x6m securely-fenced heated pool, head to our Games Barn for a fun game of ping pong, billiards, table football and air hockey.  You will also find a large trampoline, football pitch, badminton court, basketball net, sandpit, slides and swings in the grounds. Children can play freely, expending their energy in a safe environment, chasing butterflies in the wildflower field or building a den in the bluebell woods where you will also find slack lines and ninja monkey bars to swing on! We have over 30 bikes of all sizes, two with child seats and one tag-along. Available free of charge. Our Pizza Party evenings are always a big hit with both adults and children See Below).

Pizza-Party evening

Through summer, our pizza parties are a great hit using the restored wood fired bread oven. A vast choice of toppings are provided, so everyone can make their perfect pizza. Served with fresh coleslaw and salad, we follow up with a selection of delicious desserts.
A relaxing, informal evening with traditional wooden games for the kids to play. 20€/head adult, 15 euros /child 12 yrs and under (for groups of 25 plus).

Wildlife

Set amongst the beautiful countryside of the Perigord Vert Natural Park surrounded by wild woods, meadows, sunflowers, cornfields and the river Lizonne meandering through the valley. Great for photography, bird watching, walking, cycling and running.

Catch sight of deer coming down to the river to drink or buzzards hovering overhead. Barn owls are often seen at dusk and the famous beeping frogs join the cicadas for the evening chorus. Children can get hands-on with nature safely exploring the 10 acres of grounds. They can chase butterflies in our wildflower meadow or observe tadpoles and newts in the pond, build dens in the woodland surrounding the gites and spot the many lizards sunbathing on the walls.

Relax and unwind

Each gîte has its own private, shaded terrace for outdoor dining and barbeques. Lovely views over the river valley and woods beyond. Watch the afternoon roll into a lazy, balmy evening with the sound of sausages sizzling on the barbeque and local wine flowing!

A peaceful haven with just the sounds of birds and cicadas to disturb the tranquillity.
Children can safely explore the grounds, go for a bounce on the trampoline, chase butterflies in the wild flower meadow or make new friends in the games barn.

Cycling

The quiet lanes and rolling countryside surrounding Les Rivieres are ideal for cycling.

We have over 30 mountain bikes of all sizes available to borrow at no extra cost.

2 baby seats and one tag along are also available.

Road bikes and racers can be organised by hiring from Bike Hire Direct Dordogne.

Catering & Events

Looking to mark an event in a special way?

In collaboration with the local caterers we are excited to be able to offer a selection of dining experiences for the coming season.

The undercover communal terrace means we can offer a unique dining experience on-site. We can tailor your menu to your needs using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Starts at around 50€/head

There is also the possibility to pre order  curry dishes from a local indian takeaway service, that can be reheated by yourselves for a less formal evening

Please enquire at the time of booking so that we can put you in contact with the local caterers to discuss your needs. Onsite meals are only available to groups who have reserved all 5 gites.
