Are you looking to celebrate a big birthday, Anniversary or simply organise a family reunion and need flexible group accomodation?
We have a great set up with 5 separate properties for up to 37 people. Each gite is completely independent giving everyone their own privacy but there is lots of space to get together.
Who would go where?
The 5 properties sleep 5, 5, 7, 8 and 12. You can book all 5 to have exclusive use of the site or book 2/3/4 properties but the other property(s) may be booked out.

Lidoire and Valette both sleep 5 in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom:

Martrieux Sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms,3 bathrooms:

SOMETHING for everyone!
For the little ones: They will be well entertained with several outdoor play areas, a sand pit, Wendy house, a dedicated games room with dressing up box, scooters and trikes, and boxes of toys to discover. They can chase butterflies and lizards in the wildflower meadow. Off course we have all the baby paraphernalia so there is no need to fill the car up with travel cots etc. There are high chairs, stair gates fitted, fireguards, potties, bed guards and even pushchairs available.
The pool is securely fenced and maintained at around 27degrees, with a large shallow end and wide steps. The toddlers will enjoy splashing around in the shaded paddling pool and messing with the watering cans and other toys.
For the older children and teenagers: There is loads of space to burn off energy and to get away from the adults! Or the other way around! In the 10acres there are Football goals, a basketball hoop and large trampoline. The woods are perfect for dens and the games room for tournaments of pool, table tennis, or air hockey. Teenagers will be happy with the free internet across site and a smart tv for movie nights or the latest series.
For the adults: While the kids are well entertained, the adults can relax and catch up. Some may want to find a quiet corner to read a book or retreat to their own property for some peace and quiet. There are lovely walks through the woodlands surrounding our property and along the lane leading to our private lake. Escape to our lake for a couple of hours fishing, with just the sound of the birds to disturb your thoughts. We also have a large selection of bikes to explore the surrounding countryside. For the energetic the gym may be an attraction although there is lovely running on the quiet lanes and shady wooded tracks around the property.
Catering options.
Shopping: One of the joys on holiday, is exploring the markets and supermarkets in the area. There is a large Super U at Villebois Lavalette (10mins) You could organize a click and collect to take the hassle out of the big shop! The local Boulangerie at La Rochebeaucourt will deliver your morning croissants and bread. There are amazing local markets and the fabulous wine shop at Mareuil is well worth a visit.
You may also want to take a break from the cooking and at Les Rivieres, we are very pleased to be able to offer various catering options. Using the separate communal terrace everyone can get together without encroaching on any one gite. This area is available throughout your stay and there is a large Barbecue here to use.
Pizza Evening: We regularly run relaxed informal pizza parties using the original log fired bread oven. Everyone makes their own pizza from a selection of over 20 toppings and they are served with fresh salads, desserts, and even a chocolate fountain. The cost for this is 15€/ adult, 10€/child (12 and under)
Your own Private Chef / Chef a Domicile. If you are wanting a really special meal for all of your group, we are working with an amazing French Chef who can create a delicious menu and an evening to remember. Eric Gavignet has recently returned to France after working for over 30 years as the head chef of the Hilton Euston in London. You can liaise directly with him, on budget and dietary needs. All the cooking is done in our new commercial catering kitchen and can be served in the gite or at the communal terrace depending on numbers and weather. The meals start from 25€/head.
We can organise a celebratory cake aswell.
Restaurants in the area.
Why not take advantage of having extra childcare on hand and book a table at the stunning Le Lavalette restaurant or splash out on one of the Michelin starred restaurants in Brantome or Angouleme. 2 restaurants in La Rochebeaucourt to try aswell.
Things for your group to do near Les Rivières.
Although you may be happy to just chill out on site there are lots of things to do in the area.
A fun canoeing trip on the crystal-clear waters of the Charente or a hilarious afternoon tree climbing is great fun for kids and adults alike. There are a couple of beach lakes, with safe swimming nearby. We recommend a tour around the chateaux at Villebois or a wander around the cobbled streets of Angouleme or Perigueux with a lunch in one of the squares. Brantome has to be on the list as well as the Monolithic church in Aubeterre voted “One of the Frances most beautiful villages”.
Travelling to Les Rivières.
For our UK guest, the easiest way to get to Les Rivieres is via Calais or the Brittany ports leaving an easy drive down on the empty motorways. However, some may prefer to fly into one of the many airports within a couple of hours’ drive from us. We are situated within easy reach of Bordeaux, Limoges, Poitier, Bergerac, and La Rochelle depending on where you are flying. Or if coming from further afield, flights normally arrive into Paris or Bordeaux and then the train to Angouleme is another option. Pick up and taxi runs can be arranged.
